One of these days someone will write a positive piece about the N-word. But don't hold your breath....
The Guardian's David Clark thinks the newly launched UK branch of the Henry Jackson Society is a neo-con front. (At least he gets the origins of N-ism more or less right, which is more than most columnists ever manage.) The Society sends an indignant response.
Young Tory squire, Boris Johnson denounces "neo-con Tourette-style babble about blowing things up". He means Al Jazeera's HQ, home to innocent newsreaders such as the one shown in this illustration. Old Tory squire, Sir Peregrine Worsthorne [subscriber-only link] complains that proprietor Conrad Black turned the Daily Telegraph into a "neo-con propaganda sheet".
And some jazz critics are even accusing neo-cons of hijacking America's toniest institution, Lincoln Center. (Via Arts & Letters) I think they probably mean "neo-classicists" but that doesn't have a nasty enough ring to it, does it?
(Incidentally, if you're a jazz fan, David Yaffe's piece on the transatlantic divide actually makes excellent reading.)
