Harry's Place and Stephen Pollard both link to Christopher Hitchens' appearance in the Iraq war debate at the Hay Festival. As soon as I've sorted out a glitch with my Real Player, I'll take a listen. You-know-who was also one of the guests on Start The Week this morning, toe-to-toe against Germaine Greer.
BTW, just to prove that nobody's perfect, here's a line I came across today while doing some background on biographer and scandal specialist Anthony Summers, co-author of a turgid new book on Frank Sinatra. Hitchens reviewed Summers' Richard Nixon tome in the NYT in 2000:
The inescapable conclusion, well bodyguarded by meticulous research and footnotes, is that in the Nixon era the United States was, in essence, a ''rogue state.''
"Rogue state?" A lot has changed since 9/11. I wonder if Hitch would still say the same today?
