An Israeli reader disagrees with my take on George Galloway's remarks about MEMRI:
I think the clear implication of GG's remarks is that anything Jews or Israelis say about Israel is not to be trusted. Would he say the same thing about Muslims talking about Muslim conflicts? And I was especially disturbed by the audience reaction. I am reminded of an incident a few months ago when Richard Ingrams in the Observer wrote that he automatically ignores anything on the Israel/ Palestine situation written by someone with a Jewish name...
Point taken, although I've listened to the extract three times now, and I'm still not quite convinced. (Just to repeat: I'm a fan of MEMRI's work.) Ingrams, on the other hand, definitely appears to cross the line.
