Conservative Home assesses today's contest:
The vote for Mr Davis must at least match his 66 public declarations or his campaign will be seen to be in retreat.
Being an unreconstructed class-warrior, I'm still hoping for a David Davis win. That's not the only reason - Wat Tyler has listed plenty of others - but it does make a big difference as far as I'm concerned. Yes, I know that all the world's a clique, but some cliques are more equal than others.
UPDATE: Obviously a less than ideal result as far as DD is concerned. This online poll is worrying too. All right, it's not scientific, but when I checked just now, Cameron was pushing 60 per cent, Davis was hovering around 10. Not good.
You say,'Being an unreconstructed class-warrior, I'm still hoping for a David Davis win.' Would that be for the same reasons as me? To keep New Labour in power for even longer? Cheers
